If you are submitting your fiction for consideration for "Indigenous Perspectives," please send your submission directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not submit it through Submittable. The submission guidelines for "Indigenous Perspectives" may be found at http://www.malahatreview.ca/announcements/indigenous_issue_call.html.
Submissions of short fiction may be up to 8,000 words in length. Unsolicited submissions of previously unpublished short fiction may be up to 8,000 words in length. Unless you are submitting flash fiction, no submission may consist of more than one story. Up to three flash fictions may be submitted in one submission, and they must be submitted in a single file. The maximum length for each flash fiction is 750 words.
Please save your short-fiction
submission in a single file that includes your cover letter (as the first page)
in a .doc, .docx, .rtf or .pdf file format.
Short-fiction submissions must be
typed, paginated, and double-spaced. Please specify the number of words in
the story, or stories, submitted.
Please also include your complete contact information (name, full mailing address, email address, telephone number) in the body of your cover letter and in a header or footer on each page of your submission. For statistical purposes, please make sure to indicate your province/state and/or country of origin in your cover letter.
Please also include a
short biographical note either in the body of the letter or on a separate page.
Response times will vary from one to nine months after the date of submission.
Authors of fiction may submit their work only once per calendar year.
